So, lately...okay not so much just lately but more intensely these days I've become annoyed at how dA works. I like many things about this place, and I understand there is only so much the staff can do to try and please everyone. I just wonder about the direction at this point. Many things bug me, like the seeming fact that naked chicks with big tits and anime eyes and a tail and kitty ears is the only thing ppl find interesting or worth a big fuss. Seriously, if this site was intended for art...then where the hell is it. I'm one of those people who tends to try to take a look at different perspectives when it comes to issues (in this case a personal one), so naturally I guess I could blame these annoyances on the possibility that my maturity level has grown and I know see how much crap gets praised around here. Don't get me wrong, I like many styles and types of art, but wow the definition for it has become way too broad. Lineart of badly drawn cartoon fat ladies squirting weird fluids out of weird places is not the same as tasteful erotic art...heck it's not even art. I'm not sure if I'm annoyed with the staff or the members. I get that this is the intranetz and there is a wide variety of ppls...but come on!! I've been here for over 4 years and I've noticed many truely great artist leaving dA because it's become so superficial. And it's really sad because I used to love browsing, now 90% of the content is pornagraphic anime (hentai), crude pornagraphic photography, porno/bestial anthro..and just overall tastelessness. I've started to wonder if maybe having a rating system would be beneficial to this dilemma. That way the crap that's super crappy gets weeded out or pushed back of the browsing system. Popularity seems to come from views and and faves...but there needs to be a way to give negative feedback..not just positive -- other than comments of course. Please dA bring a rating system into play in the next version!! Bring back art!! It's okay to be cliche and use rating.

Ranting aside, If I had made any errors as the how the system works please correct me. I'm not an expert of dA but I see what I see. I'd be more than happy to find out things are otherwise.

So it seems I didn't even get past the starting line with the wacom contest dilly..submitted one minute past the deadline...either way I wouldn't of done too well anyhow. Though I will be entering more contests cus they're pretty fun..I may even start one later on. Fun fun?
